MT. FUJI 2 DAY SUNRISE CLIMB: Tour Itinerary (2 days)

Day 1 (avg hike time: 5hrs)

- 09:00 AM

Meet up at our Office outside Gotemba Station. Here you can leave any gear you do not wish to hike with as well as receive any rental gear (if any).

- 09:30 AM

Transfer 60 mins to the trailhead where our climb begins.

- 10:30 AM

The ascent starts and goal for the day is to climb 1300m which takes on average 5 hours.

(There is no lunch on the mountain, instead we snack along the way)

- 3:30 PM

The accommodation for the night is at an elevation of 3700m (on the crater rim!) where we will enjoy a curry dinner upon arrival.

On Day 1 we need to make sure to go to sleep early as we will need to wake up in the middle of the night!

Day 2 (avg descent time: 3-4 hours)

Day 2 starts in the middle of the night as we begin our push early to make the summit in time for sunrise.

The hike time to the summit on Day 2 is roughly 30-40 mins.

The summit features a Shrine (you can get your summit stamp here), gift shops and even a post office to send a unique post card. Given favorable weather, the summit offers fantastic views and the option of a walk around the crater (highly dependent on weather and energy levels).

*open times of the Shrine and shops are subject to change.

After celebrating reaching Japan's highest point, our descent begins.

Though the descent time can vary depending on the conditions, the average time is around 4-5 hours.

Reaching the base of the mountain changes as the sunrise time changes as the season progresses but on average, most groups will get back to the trailhead by around 10AM on Day 2.

From here we will transport you back to Gotemba Station where the tour ends.

The drive time to Gotemba is around 1 hour.
